Sittin' on the dock of the bay...

I unexpectedly spent the weekend with my aunt, uncle, and cousin on the Sandy Bay in Bayou La Batre. Yes, Bayou La Batre is on the Alabama Coast near my hometown and its existence was made known in the movie Forrest Gump. Bayou La Batre isn't famous, however. It's still the same quiet little fishing community with not a tourist in sight. That's the way my family likes it, and my aunt and uncle live 5.1 miles down a sometimes treacherous dirt road in the swampy backwoods of the Bayou on the Sandy Bay. They lost their home in Hurricane Katrina, and just finished rebuilding on their property. The new home is a sight to see. So here ya go...

Yes, I said "booyah". Twice. Because I'm cool like that.

Pics from this weekend coming soon!
